Can you drill into HDB concrete walls to mount shelves?
Yes. HDB walls are reinforced concrete — you need an SDS hammer drill with carbide-tipped bits, not a standard cordless drill. We carry professional SDS drills and use Fischer S8 or M8 plugs rated for the load you are mounting. We also patch and touch up any misaligned pilot holes before completion.
I have a plasterboard partition wall in my condo. Can you still mount things on it?
Yes, but the approach changes. Plasterboard (drywall) cannot hold the same loads as concrete. For light items (picture frames, small mirrors) we use drywall anchors. For heavy items (large mirrors, shelves carrying books) we locate the metal stud behind the board using a stud finder and anchor into that, or use heavy-duty toggle bolts rated to the load.
Do I need to buy the drill or fixings myself?
No. We bring all tools and a full range of common fixings. We will confirm the fixing type and load rating with you before drilling. If you have specific fixings you want used, just let us know.
Can you install curtain tracks on a concrete pelmet or false ceiling?
Yes. False ceiling and pelmet curtain track installation is one of our most frequent jobs. We drill through the plasterboard false ceiling into the concrete slab above — the anchor goes into concrete, not plasterboard, so the load is properly supported. For very heavy curtains (blackout with interlining) we space brackets at 60 cm centres.
Is a mirror mount safe on a bathroom tile wall?
Tile drilling is possible with the correct diamond drill bit, which we carry. We drill at low speed with water cooling to prevent tile cracking. We cannot guarantee older tiles will not crack — if your tiles are vintage or thin, we will advise you on this risk before drilling and discuss alternative mounting options like adhesive mirror mounts.
