What causes sliding wardrobe doors to bind or jump off track?
Three things: the carcass is not perfectly plumb (vertical), the top track is not perfectly level, or the bottom guide is not aligned with the top track. Any one of these causes the door to ride at an angle, which increases rolling resistance until the door binds or pops off. We address all three before installing the doors.
Do you assemble IKEA PAX with Auli sliding doors?
Yes. PAX Auli and PAX Mehamn sliding systems require the carcass to be fully squared, the top fascia rail seated correctly, and the door panels inserted at the correct overlap for the number of doors. Common DIY error: fitting the doors before fully tightening the top fascia, which then deflects under door weight and binds the rollers.
My Taobao sliding wardrobe has a 3-track system. Is that harder?
Three-track systems allow three rows of doors and are common in larger Taobao wardrobes designed for master bedrooms. Assembly is more involved because all three tracks must be parallel and at identical height — any variance causes the back-track doors to bind when the front-track doors are moved. We use a laser level to set all tracks before installation.
Can you replace just the sliding door rollers on an existing wardrobe?
Yes. Roller replacement is a common rectification job. Most rollers are standard sizes (16 mm or 18 mm wheel diameter) — we carry common sizes. We will need the track height and roller housing dimensions to confirm compatibility before visiting.
My sliding wardrobe door has a gap at the top that lets light in. Is that normal?
A small gap (2–3 mm) is normal on most two-door systems. A large gap (10 mm or more) indicates the carcass is not plumb or the fascia rail has deflected. This is usually a calibration issue, not a product defect, and can be fixed by adjusting the roller height and/or shimming the carcass.
